TW: vomiting, starvation
So starved,
that I throw up the first bite.
Just a little
is too much.
It doesn’t taste how I expected
or remember,
and it hurts
more than I thought it would,
and I know one day I’ll eat again;
Cakes and chicken and teas and soups
and pies and ice cream and chips and chocolate.
One day I will throw up from too much,
not too little.
That is so far away.
So far.
That I imagined the first bite would be magical
and I would be healed
and the colour would return to my skin
and I would reinflate
and I would be embraced.
And yet I am hungry.
Hungrier.
Starving.
